WordPress is a highly configurable open source content management website tool that was originally created for personal blogging to allow users to upload, format and maintain their own website content.
For its original use, it is the perfect tool, but it has since grown to be used by thousands of web developers the world over to provide everything from business websites to ecommerce sites and even hotel booking solutions.
From our experience however, when used for anything other than personal or business blogging, it tends to be slow, clunky, over-bloated and difficult for end users to maintain. For that reason we personally do not recommend it for business use.
If you have a business website developed by a third party using WordPress and you're looking for someone to take it over and help maintain it, we may still be able to help.
This will most likely be with the recommendation that we redevelop the site in the longer term to create something slicker, faster and easier for us and / or you to maintain.
